Beauty Unboxing: December Birchbox 2015

From the sneak peaks I’d seen on social media and in emails from Birchbox this month, I knew we were in for a treat! As soon as I saw that it was a Birchbag this month, I got even more excited! The cherry on the top was definitely the two Benefit products that would be inside!!

So firstly I’ll start off with the two things I was most excited about – the two Benefit products. They came in this cute packaging which is similar to their Christmas packaging this year.
The two products in side was the They’re Real Push-up Liner and the Puff Off eye cream – both of which I have been dying to try!
The liner was quite tricky to work at first – I knew you had to twist it up on the full sized version, but there wasn’t an option for it on this sample size. Oddly you literally had to push it up via the squishy plastic applicator. I tested it out on my hand and it seemed pretty good, but in yet to try it out properly.
The Puff Off eye cream however, I am really impressed with! It really does cool down the eye area and I’ve noticed concealer applies a lot nicer and creases less! I would really think about buying a full size of this.
The Roloxin Lift facial treatment is something that I’m not keen on trying, as the sample size is so small and in this awful sachet packaging – which I hate. I will give it a go though, as it could be good, especially during December when my skin is feeling dull after all the partying and makeup and general dreary weather.
I’m in love with the Ciate Polish! Such a Christmas-y colour/finish. Although I usually hate receiving nail polish as I can’t wear it due to work, I thought that was such a lovely touch. And the brand is amazing too!
I’m not usually a fan of receiving body wash or shower gel in my Birchbox either, but this Skin & Co Sicilian Body Gel is a huge size for a sample it actually makes it worth while. It’s a great size to take on holiday with you too – enough to get multiple uses from but not too bulky.
Another product I would normally be iffy with, but the brand has redeemed that bag. This is an anti-aging Pro-Collagen Marine Cream from Elemis. Now I’m only 20, and I’m sure Birchbox know this, so I’m not sure why I received this in my box, but I’m happy to try this. I’m all up for catching they early signs of aging and Elemis are a great brand so I could be looking as youthful as ever with this!
Now to my favourite product from the whole box this month. This is the Model Co Ultra Long-Lasting lipstick in the shade Kitty. It’s a lovely neutral pink-y nude lipstick, a great “my lips but better” colour. This really does last long in the lips – it reminds me of a MAC matte lipstick in the texture, but the formulation of this isn’t quite matte in my opinion, more like semi-matte. It also has a subtle sweet vanilla scent, similar to MAC’s also, which I absolutely love. The packaging is slightly cheap and plastic-y, but for three of these lipsticks for the price of one MAC lipsticks for similar attributes, I think these are well worth it and I am thinking about purchasing the full set myself.
So that’s it for this month’s Borchbox. I love that they’ve included a mixture of skincare and makeup, as it is exactly what you need at this time of the year. Your skin usually takes a battering from the elements and all the makeup from the parties at this time of year it’s nice to treat your skin well. Plus the little makeup bits add a little something to your party looks!
