As you may have noticed (or not), a little something has changed on my site today… That’s right, I finally went out and bought myself a domain name! You are now reading nicolelaurenblake.co.uk!!
Any who, on to the actual post! I got an email while I was away telling me my Birchbox* had been dispatched! So I was so excited to get home and find it waiting for me! I couldn’t help but open it up and see what was inside!
And I have to say, this is my best box yet! I love everything inside and will get full usage out of everything! I just wish I’d gotten the pink box! I’m a sucker for pink! Hahah!
The first thing I pulled out of the box were the Inner Me Energise Me vitamin tablets. I was surprised to see these in the box, but I’m happy they were included. I love taking vitamins, but often forget. These however have the days of the week written on the packaging, so you can just throw them in your bag and take them when you remember! I haven’t tried them yet, but the sample size is pretty decent – 4 weeks worth of tablets!
Next is the Percy and Reed Smoothed, Sealed and Sensational Volumising No Oil Oil
which is said to add volume and smooth hair, while also nourishing and repairing hair with pro vitamin B5 which helps with strength and heat protection. I’m in love with hair oils and serums at the moment as I have awful dry and frizzy hair with what feels like constant split ends (cry). Whether this will live up to the Agave argon oil hair treatment (Feb Birchbox
) I’m unsure, but we shall see!
Lola Barcelona nail polish exclusive for Birchbox in the shade Gracia. I never expected to receive a nail polish in my Birchbox
, I don’t know why, maybe because it’s not a sample size. The bottle does look smaller that usual, but there is 8ml in there (normal nail polish size). The colour is amazing and so bright! Perfect for summer!
Pommade Divine Nature’s Remedy Balm is an all purpose balm that can be used on the lips, cuticles and other dry areas for intense moisture, as well as for treating peeling and flaking of minor burns, scrapes and bruises. I’ve been wanting to try one of these balms for a while now, so when I saw it I had to try it straight away! After my trip, my lips were very dry, and I had also been wearing acrylic nails for a week and they were very dry and brittle. So I used it on my lips and over my nails and cuticles before I went to bed, and didn’t feel the need to use anything for them the next day!
However, my only complaints are that the sample size isn’t that big (7ml) due to the thickness of the balm, and also too much comes out when you squeeze the tube.
This next product is the one I was most impressed with – I didn’t expect it . I have tried the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish before, but I never got on with it. I think the heat of the cloth made my skin look red and blotchy afterwards so I stopped using it.
But when I got this I decided to give it a try again. And the results I got were amazing! I have really dry skin (which I never had when I was younger) and my skin has never been as soft afterwards!
The best part of this is that it comes with a cloth, and I had either lost or thrown away all of mine. I have now found my other (unopened yaaas!) tubes of Cleanse and Polish, so when this one runs out, I have more to use! I will definitely be purchasing it when the run out!
And last but not least, the Laura Mecier product that I picked this month was the mascara. I wish I’d have had the choice to pick the primer, as I’ve been wanting to try it but not wanting to buy it, but that option was unavailable. I haven’t even opened it yet, so I don’t have a clue what it’s like, as I have four mascaras open already.
I honestly do think that this has been the best box I have received yet, and I cannot recommend Birchbox enough!
Look out for a post coming soon where I will talk about the Birchbox loyalty points system, because that is one of the best perks about the box.
As always, thanks so much for reading!
