This is Jane Cunningham, or British Beauty Blogger
‘s latest collaboration with the beauty box Latest in Beauty. This post isn’t exactly an unboxing, as on buying this, I knew the exact products that I was going to get, just some of the colours were a surprise!
I received an email about this box and had to check it out, as the previous ones, I have seen good things about, so I didn’t want to miss out this time around! I’ve had it for a week and a half now, so had a good chance to try nearly all the products.
On opening, the box was packed to the brim! So much so, that when I tried to put it all back in there myself, it just wouldn’t fit!
I’ll start with the things I like the least!
Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier Eau de Parfum
I just don’t enjoy the smell of this, I’m not sure why. It’s not awful, but it’s not just “me” smell. It’ll probably just get put in a drawer and left there unfortunately.
Another product I wasn’t too keen on the smell of. Crabtree and Evelyn pear and magnolia body lotion. However, I will still use it, and will take it to Amsterdam with me next weekend!
If you’ve read my Makeup Revolution haul post
, then you will know how much I am in love with this brand! I was so excited to see it be included in the box. The One fluid blusher
in the shade Pink Dew.
However, this colour does nothing on my skin tone – it’s just too light. I was hoping for the more rusty looking colour.
Vita Liberata pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan Lotion
Now I’m not a self tanner, so this was a weird thing for me to want in a box. However I thought it would be a good way to try it and see if I did like it. The fact it came with a little mitt too just made it all the more tempting!
OLEHENRIKSEN Pure Truth Melting Cleanser
I am actually yet to use this product, however I’ve seen it in a few people’s skincare routines lately, so I’m looking forward to using it – I’m just too into my Micellar cleansing water at the minute!
SALON SCIENCE® Reglosse™ Smoothing Serum
This product works ok, but I feel like it’s just too thick to evenly distribute through my hair, and end up using more pumps than I need. Works ok as a quick midweek pick me up for my hair (I have really dry ends), but I prefer the Agave treatment I got in my February Birchbox.
Now this, is so flipping cute!! I don’t want to use it it’s that cute! The Scottish Fine Soaps Company Sea Kelp Luxury Soap. This stuff smells AMAZING! Just so clean and fresh. The fact that it comes in a tin too – I can’t wait to take it to Amsterdam with me next week! Perfect for travelling.
DECIEM Hand Chemistry Intense Youth Complex
This smells so good, and leaves your hands soft for hours after use. I’m only 20, so don’t need it for the anti-aging properties, and I can’t say I’ve seen a difference on that front, but I will continue to use it. I think it’s the best hand cream I own in terms of hydration, I probably wouldn’t purchase it myself though!
I’ve been meaning to get some Essence products for so long, but never been near a shop that sells them. So I was looking forward to using these, even though I’m not allowed to have my nails painted at work. I decided to give myself a pedicure instead. And a week later, the polish is still going strong! It’s chipped on my big toe, but other than that it’s the same as it was when first applied. I found that they dry really quick and leave an opaque colour after 2 coats! Perfect!
I’ve seen a lot of people buying eyeliners for Eye of Horus recently, so I was very excited to receive this in my box! I got it in a purple colour, which is lovely.
I’ve used it once and it’s very creamy to apply, but stays for ages once it dries. I’m really impressed with this product and I think I would repurchase myself in other colours!
Dr Organic lip balm
I feel like this, is the best lip balm I’ve used in a long, long while! It leaves my lips lovely and soft, with no sign of dryness. It does taste like fake cherry though, which I’m not the biggest fan of in lip products, I would have preferred the mint version!
I haven’t actually used these yet, but I can’t wait to! I’ve been debating buying some, but thought I wouldn’t use them and then they’d be a waste of money. These temporary tattoos are by Orelia.
Benefit They’re Real! remover
After recieving They’re Real! in my March Birchbox
, I needed to try the remover out, as I was having a hard time finding the best thing to take it off with. The only thing wrong with this, is you need so much of the stuff to actually get the mascara off, that I would probably end up using the whole sample tube! I gave up with this eventually, and used coconut oil…
This is something that I will 100% repurchase, the Nuxe Masque Creme Fraiche de Beaute. It’s a hydrating face mask that you leave on for 10-20 minutes and then either wipe the excess off, or rub it into the skin. I was skeptical about this, as thick moisturisers can leave patches of my skin oily, but this really didn’t. I tried to rub the excess in, but ended up just wiping it off. It left my skin feeling plump and full of life and has stayed like that for a week since I used it. I feel like I’m constantly battling with my dry skin, but this product may just have helped me conquer it!
Now this is the product I was most excited for! The Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Don’t Pink of It! I have been meaning to get my hands on one of these for such a long time! The formula is amazing, it actually feels like velvet. It is also thick but lightweight at the same time – if I could describe it in any way, it’s like a melted lipstick. I love it so much, the colour is perfect too! It has pretty good staying power… I just need more colours!!
So all this was £21.95 plus P+P! I think this is great value for money for the amount of products you receive! I love trying out new things, so beauty boxes like these are a god send, as the products are worth over £110.
Unfortunately, the box is now sold out, however if you want to check the website out click here
, they have other great boxes available. And also if you sign up for the newsletter, you’ll recieve and email when the next British Beauty Blogger box will be ready! I know I’ll be waiting for that!
Thanks so much for reading guys!
